The rounds

Rinse, heat, cool, rest

A sauna visit is the same four steps, repeated at your own pace. Do as many rounds as the session allows.

  • A round room with dark clay walls and a domed ceiling, a straw mat floor and small windows
    Step one

    Rinse

Shower before you go in, and take your towel to sit on. Long hair goes up, and jewelry stays in the locker.

  • A sauna bench lit from below against a wall of dark hexagonal wood tiles
    Step two

    Heat

Pick a bench: the higher you sit, the hotter it is. Stay as long as is comfortable, and leave whenever you want to.

  • Mist rising off a frozen lake below a snowy hillside of pines, with two cabins on the shore
    Step three

    Cool

Step into the plunge pool, or out into the air, until you feel ready to go back in.

  • A row of cushioned wooden loungers with rolled towels beside a dark stone pool
    Step four

    Rest

Sit in the quiet room with a glass of water and let things settle before the next round.

The cold side

A plunge pool a few steps from the sauna door

Cold water for between the rounds. Go in as far as you like, and get out when you want to.

  • Rain showers beside the sauna door

  • Towels on the shelf at the door

  • Out in the cool air, if you would rather

  • A host will show you how, if it is your first time

A tiled plunge pool with a curved steel water spout, a stone wall and a wall of wooden slats under strip lights

Kind words

From guests

“We book the Thursday evening session with the same three friends. It is quiet, the host remembers our names, and we are out by nine.”

Cary T.Shared session

“I was nervous about the cold plunge. Mayly showed me how to go in slowly and told me I could get out whenever I liked.”

Rasa M.First visit

“We took the private sauna for my brother's birthday. The towels were ready, the sauna was ours, and nobody hurried us at the end.”

Questions before you book

What do I bring?

A swimsuit, and a hair tie if you need one. We give you a towel, sandals and a locker.

Do I need to book?

Yes, for every session. Book online or call the front desk. If the house has room, we will fit you in; call first.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. A shared session is for single guests and friends alike, and a host is on the floor.

How hot is the sauna?

Hot. The higher benches are hotter than the lower ones, so sit low if you want less heat, and leave when you like.

Can I bring a group?

A private sauna seats two to six. A group session takes the whole house for eight to sixteen.

What if I am pregnant, or have a health condition?

Ask your doctor before you book. Leave any room if you feel dizzy or unwell.
